Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

This morning, set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, renowned for its mountain gorillas. The park is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with 348 bird species and 24 out of 26 Albertine Rift endemics. It is a lush haven, once connected to the Virunga Volcanoes’ forests and now an isolated ecological gem surrounded by fertile farmland.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest

After a hearty breakfast, head to the ranger station by 8:00 AM to begin your gorilla tracking adventure. Guides will lead you through the forest, navigating thick undergrowth in search of the gorillas. This trek can last between 30 minutes and 5 hours, so be prepared with good fitness and sturdy footwear. Enjoy the incredible experience of observing these magnificent creatures up close, including the impressive silverback.

Day 3: Travel to Parc National des Volcans

Following breakfast, travel to Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda. Remember to adjust your watches as Rwanda is an hour behind Uganda, and driving is on the right side of the road.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Parc National des Volcans

After breakfast, visit the Rwanda Gorilla office for a briefing before embarking on your gorilla tracking adventure. This experience can take from 30 minutes to 5 hours. If time permits in the afternoon, explore the local community in Ruhengeri.

Day 5: Return to Kampala or Kigali

After breakfast, make your way back to Kampala or Kigali, concluding your memorable journey through the heart of East Africa.
