Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kampala
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, transfer to your hotel or lodge in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to take an afternoon excursion to explore Kampala’s notable sites, such as the Kabaka’s tombs, Uganda Museum, Bahai Temple, and Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, where 22 Christian martyrs were executed in 1886. Enjoy your meals and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls
Begin your scenic drive northwest through the Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town towards Murchison Falls National Park. Arrive in time for a picnic lunch at the top of the falls, where the Nile River dramatically squeezes through a 7-meter canyon, creating a spectacular waterfall. Day 3: Exploring Murchison Falls
Start with an early breakfast before embarking on a game drive to spot wildlife such as Elephants, Lions, Cape Buffalo, Rothschild’s Giraffe, and various antelope species. After lunch, enjoy a boat safari upstream on the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, observing Hippos, Crocodiles, and diverse bird species, including the rare Shoebill Stork. Day 4: Murchison Falls to Kibale
Drive south through Hoima to Fort Portal, enjoying the picturesque countryside and traditional homesteads. Arrive at Kibale Forest, known for its stunning Crater Lake views and the “Mountains of the Moon.” Explore the area with an evening cultural visit before settling in at your accommodation. Day 5: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start your day with a half-day chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest, where you might encounter up to 10 different primate species, including Red Colobus and Grey Cheeked Mangabey. After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing the Rwenzori Mountains and Crater Lake region. Enjoy an en-route game drive, spotting the Big Five and other wildlife.
Day 6: Exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park
Take an early morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, a diverse ecosystem with grassy plains, tropical forests, and volcanic craters. Look out for the Big Five and other wildlife like Topi and Giant Forest Hog. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, famous for its high concentration of Hippos and abundant birdlife.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi
Drive through spectacular highland rainforests and volcanic landscapes to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Stop at the Bat Cave near Maramagambo Forest and the “Blue Lake.” In the afternoon, embark on a game drive in the Ishasha sector to search for the rare tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
After breakfast, prepare for gorilla tracking, which begins with a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority officials. Bring essential gear such as a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots. Track one of the world’s remaining 650 mountain gorillas—an unforgettable wildlife experience. Day 9: Bwindi to Kampala
